SUPERHEROES, UNITE!!!
In 2019, nine-year-old Matteo ran 36 different 5K & 10K races in 15 states and Canada. In every race he "borrowed the SuperPowers" of a kid with cancer by wearing a cape that featured their name and favorite photo. During the pandemic, Matteo continues to run in various locations alone and makes videos to inspire the superheroes he supports. He then sends them a cape and other gifts.
When given a personalized cape, kids with cancer feel empowered to persevere in their harrowing journey. Their parents also feel uplifted when a stranger makes this simple but selfless gesture to their young hero.

You ran a 5K, 10K, half-marathon, marathon, or even an Ironman event. That's awesome, and you deserve a medal. But, do you know who would appreciate one of your medals even more than you? A kid battling cancer. Our running a race is nothing compared to what they experience - needles, feeding tubes, chemotherapy, and so much more.
